Brink!

I love Natalie Lewis. This has been a great weekend. Natalie and I both discovered that we have had a secret desire for about three years to purchase, for the second time in our lives, a pair of roller blades (probably because of a long-time obsession with the 1998 Disney Channel Original Movie, "Brink"). On Friday, we headed off to Target to end the summer the right way by purchasing things that we don't need. On our way, we decided to stop at the local thrift store and explore a bit, and what do you know...we both found roller blades in our sizes! I thought I was the only one! Natalie and I must be soul mates.

Anyway, after purchasing our long anticipated treasures, Natalie and I decided to give the roller blades a whirl at a Macey's parking lot. We were soon inspired, however, by the Sonic Drive In across the way and thought it would be fun to pretend we were interested in applying for a job there (for those of you who are unfamiliar with Sonic, in order to create an atmosphere reminiscent of a 50's diner with waitresses in roller skates, the employees roller blade out to customers' cars to deliver their food). We awkwardly "bladed" up to the door and asked for applications. Sadly, the employee took us much to seriously (which always makes me feel bad), but for the sake of our excitement about the roller blades, we asked her for a few minutes about roller blading qualifications, auditions, pay for certain tricks, etc. and then went on our merry way skating around Provo for another 2 hours. What a wonderful way to end my summer.

There aren't many people who would participate in such an activity or even think it was funny. Thanks Nat.
